In the world of marketing, there are all sorts of tips and tricks that can change the outcome of your results.
But by not understanding this simple trick, you're business will never reach its max potential
By the end of this article, you will understand how simple it is to have everyone buying from you.
When you create any sort of marketing, you have a specific audience you want to reach out to depending on what you sell.
It’s your target audience. It seems simple, right. You think of what you sell and who would want to buy it.
Yet this is where companies go south and end up wasting all their marketing and ad potential.
It doesn’t matter if your ads have perfect copy and hook everyone on earth including your dog. If your target audience is off the mark, Your conversion rates will plummet.
You don’t have to worry, it’s not rocket science or mind boggling.
As you keep reading this, I will show you the simple strategy to make sure you don’t fall into this trap.
Problems Companies Can Face
It’s pretty simple. They sell something and advertise it to people who won’t be interested.
Let’s say you sell women's skincare cream. What most companies would do is advertise to BOTH men and women.
Men will never use that stuff and it's obvious.
It’s like offering a human a dog treat.
Think about this for a second. That company will lose 50% of their audience off the bat because men have nothing to do with it.
Think about all the customers they could have if they just targeted women.
I’m not saying it’s illegal for men to see those ads…
…But you need to think about what you have and come up with an answer to “Who would want to buy this?”
Think of the gender, could be both. Think of the age range you want to reach, and maybe most important, location.
If you have a service based company in a single city, just advertise for that city. The biggest mistake is companies advertising to a whole state.
You're wasting more of your target audience because 80% of people don’t live in the city you're located in.
If you have a store that's different, then you can advertise to the entire planet if you choose.
But if you're in one location, just keep all the marketing in one location.
Aside from all that, there is still one big mistake that can confuse a lot of people.
Stop Confusing People
Let’s say you're running ads for a supplement you sell that’s only for men. The thing companies don’t think about is the picture they post.
This can go for just about anything (Banners and posters IRL, blog pictures, social media posts, etc.).
What they’ll do is make an ad for that supplement, and have a picture with a woman in it or maybe a man and women
This may confuse people. It’ll give people the idea that maybe it’s for everyone.
I bring this up because you need to be specific and think about what you sell and who’s viewing your ads.
You can advertise to anyone you choose. But if you want the most out of your marketing, you want that perfect target audience.
This can go for anything you sell. Everything revolves around the target audience.
When people get confused they end up doing nothing. They scrape the whole idea and move on.
When you have the right audience, the leads you get will sky rocket because you're reaching out to people who are truly interested in what you have.
So What's The Simple Trick
The trick is to ask yourself a couple of questions on the topic of Who Would Want This?
What gender(s) will want this?
What age ranges should we reach?
Where should we reach out to?
When you come up with the answers, you will have the magic glass ball to get any client or customer you want.
Reason why, your targeting people who will want what you sell.
All 100% of your target audience will want what you have.
It isn’t just for ads, it’s for every part of your business. Every bit of marketing. This is why it’s so important.
Your competitors don’t understand this, so they’ll never reach the perfect audience.
No rocket science, no thousand page book needed, just a simple strategy to make sure you're reaching the most out of your preferred audience.
