For business owners that aren’t graphic designers or have no experience in creating pictures, making an image for your ads can be very confusing.
When I first heard about the importance of an image in your ads, I thought I would have to take lessons on how to become an artist.
The problem is, if your industry is selling bath soap, that has absolutely nothing to do with creating designs and images. It seems like making an image is going way out of your way because you’ve never done it before.
I’m the same way. If you put a paint brush in my hands, it would look like a 5th grader trying to paint a butterfly.
But yet, I can provide your business with results that can’t be compared to.
While it’s easy to find an image on Google, that still won’t do the trick.
Creating a quality image for your ads is important because it's part of the process of gaining people's attention and making them want what you sell.
What Problems Do People Face With Making Good Images?
If you’ve seen my other articles, you’ve probably heard me talk about people only caring about selling and money. That will also show in the creation of their ads.
People just want to sell and make money. So what they do is put endless copy that is completely needless and even flood it into their image.
There is text in ads for a reason, so you can put what you need to say there. Simple. Yet people make it look like rocket science.
The image is important because it's an opportunity to get people very interested in what you have, and start generating many more leads.
If you start flooding it with text, it becomes worthless, and you lose out on the opportunity to get people interested.
Now I’m not saying you can’t have text in your image, you definitely can, just not paragraphs of text. That’s what the body copy is for.
Another problem is people start over complicating their image. They put images that make no sense to what they are saying in the ad.
It’s like you sell flowers for example and post pictures of houses. It has nothing to do with what you're trying to sell.
The problem is if the image doesn’t make sense or doesn’t make people interested, they will scroll on by. So we need something that makes sense to start.
What If You Have No Experience In Creating Images?
Trust me when I began, I had no clue how to do this. I wasn’t a graphic designer so it wasn’t as easy as making something up in the matter of minutes.
Thankfully there are a lot of tools online to make the process easier for you.
What we don’t want to do is start blowing more money on designers when they have no experience on generating leads and making people interested.
Looking things up on Google, is our friend. There are unlimited tools that will get the image needed for your ads.
Another thing we don’t want is making images too pretty. Winning design awards won’t stop people in their tracks to view your ad.
We don’t want anything over complicated in our ads, it’s not needed and in the end people will scroll on by.
So How Do I Create The Perfect Image?
What we want to avoid is making things complicated for people. We want to make it seamless, but interesting.
In order to make the image gain attention, it needs to display a few things:
It can contain bright colors to pop out to people and catch their eye
If your making a video, having movement and not keeping things still can results in people staying to watch the rest of the video
The most important part, show something people want really badly. Make your product or service worth its value, so when people see the image, they really want it all of a sudden.
A pretty important part is making what you sell worth its value. It’s like the newest iPhone. People want it, then they see a picture of it, maybe even videos, and they want it even more.
Do the same with what you sell, and people will want what you have like hotcakes.
It's not rocket science and nor is it supposed to be. But utilizing an image the right way can generate more leads than you can think. If you need help or want me to go over your work, contact me and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
