When you create an ad, it’s a massive opportunity to get a source of traffic towards your business.
The only problem is the ad must be good and give a reason for people to be interested in what you sell.
When you're scrolling on social media and come across an ad, the first thing that is seen or heard is a headline.
The problem most people have is they think a headline is meaningless, or they make a headline that makes no sense.
By the end of this article you will have the formula to make any ad going forward successful.
That success begins with a headline.
I know what you're thinking, “A couple words on top mean nothing”.
Let me give you an example. When you're looking for a book to read, it all depends on the title.
The title is what makes the book interesting.
To keep it simple, an ad is the same way.
If your headline isn’t interesting, no one will read the rest.
Simple Headline Mistakes
One of my modo’s is keeping things simple. Complexity is what ruins ads.
When I go through ads and I’m seeing these headlines, it’s a bunch of stuff that doesn’t make sense or is just too much.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying before K.I.S.S.
Keep It Simple Stupid.
I like to word it differently. Keep It Stupid Simple.
When you have a headline that’s over the top or just doesn’t make sense, people are going to scroll on by.
If what you have doesn’t interest them immediately, it’s over.
Everyone's attention span is getting shorter by the day. Before you know it, attention span will be some ancient history shown on the Discovery Channel.
I understand using long and fancy words may look cool, but for the average person it may absolutely confuse them.
So the best thing to do is keep everything simple and straightforward. You’ll see it pay off in your results as well
Another Way To Word A Headline
What else could a headline be?....A hook.
Sadly I’m not talking about fishing, But what you need to do with your headline is hook people into reading the rest of your ad.
If I have to be exact, you probably have 2-3 seconds to catch people's attention before they scroll on.
This is why a headline is crucial. It’s everything. If you can’t catch people's attention then you're wasting your money on ads.
This is also why it’s called a hook, you need to reel people into what you have.
People don’t want to spend money. But if you have the right audience and the right thing for people to buy, you can flip that narrative.
It all revolves around the first thing said in your ads. Doesn’t matter if it’s your normal text ad or a video.
The headline is the catalyst for the results your ads receive. If you're in the right audience but get no attention, your headline may be at fault.
What’s The Headline Trick
Your foundation should always be keeping things simple.
Think of you looking for a book in the bookstore. If the title of a certain book doesn’t sound interesting, you wouldn’t buy it.
It’s the same concept with headlines.
In order to hook people to read on, you guessed it, you need something that sparks INTEREST.
How do you do that?....There's a couple ways.
Start with your niche and what you sell. Think of problems people could face and what you have that solves them.
If you state that problem in the headline, you're going to get people to read on, I can guarantee it.
Think of the headline as stating a problem and the rest of the ad as a solution to that problem.
It’ll catch people's attention because they can relate to that problem.
When you have that scenario, you're destined to close all leads.
