Multiply Your Sales by Avoiding These Headline Mistakes

If you're ever scrolling on social media, the posts with strong headlines are the ones that usually catch your interest.

If it sounds boring or confusing, you won’t think twice to scroll past it.

Since attention span is fried these days it makes headlines VERY important, and also VERY easy to go wrong.

Since you’re reading this article, I’m going to show several headline mistakes that are holding you back from catching EVERYONE'S attention.

Why Are Headlines Sooo Important?

A headline gives you the opportunity to have people saying "I NEED THAT."

With attention span getting worse every day, it increases the chances of someone scrolling past your post.

And since headlines are the very first thing said, they HAVE to stick out.

If it doesn’t catch interest immediately, you have better chances of knocking prime Mike Tyson out over your posts succeeding.

With this in mind, here are the common headline mistakes made and how you can fix them.

Common Headline Mistakes

If you want to catch everyone's attention, you need to avoid these mistakes:

  1. Being Booorrrrriiiinnnggg

  • Imagine going to the library and picking up a book with the most boring title.

Would you read it?... Of course not.

  • Having a boring headline is the worst possible mistake.

  • Here’s an example: “Looking for a new toilet?”

Noooo thank you.

Think of something exciting that’ll have people on the edge of their seat.

  • Here’s what I would say: “Want to Make Your Dream Bathroom Come to Life?”

  1. Making No Sense/Being Complex

  • If your headline makes no sense, people won’t take the time to figure it out.

  • You need to keep it simple and straightforward.

  • Here’s an example:”Did You Know Marketing Can Save You 50%?”

50% of what?....Ad spent? Time? Cringe levels?

If you leave people with questions, they’ll go to someone else who makes sense.

  • What I would say: “Want More Results For Your Business Without Wasting Tons of Money?”

  1. Making Them Wayyy to Long

  • Having a paragraph-sized headline will give the audience confusion, and flashbacks to high school English classes (which isn't a good thing).

  • Keep it condensed and straight to the point.

  • Example: “Take advantage of Meta Ads and start getting more clients using all the features and options they have to offer.”

Something like this isn’t needed. There’s much better ways to put it.

  • What I would say: “ Do you want to grow your business using Meta Ads?”

  1. Being Harsh

  • Playing with people's emotions is never a good idea.

  • Instead of going that far, think of the problems people could be facing.

  • Example: “Do You Suck at Getting More Clients for Your Business?”

Pretty simple fix.

  • What I would say: “Want to Get More Clients Without Wasting Tons of Money?”

By eliminating these mistakes, you’ll have your audience EXCITED for what you have to say next.

Glued to their screens, and desperate for what you sell.
